Welcome to Shonaquip
Shonaquip was created to address the often overlooked and neglected needs of those who require specialised wheelchair services. Not all wheelchairs are created equal and different people have different wheelchair needs.
Shonaquip recognised that each person is an individual with limitless potential regardless of any physical disability. One of our primary aims is to help these individuals reach their potential by providing a wide range of therapeutic support and seating options.
We specialise in the design, manufacture, sale and support of a wide range of modular and custom-made seating systems, mobility devices and other assistive technology.
Our services aren't limited to only the technical aspects of therapeutic seating and support. Shonaquip understands that for any type of therapy to be successful, it needs to be addressed holistically. It's with this in mind that we provide a thorough assessment before prescribing and fitting clients with the wheelchairs and support that is right for them. To ensure that our clients get the most out of their appropriate assistive technology, we offer in-depth training to all parties concerned, including therapists, parents and care-givers.
In addition to our personalised services, we also supply our unique mobility and assistive devices to medicals aids, funders, as well as the Departments of Health and Education on a National and Provincial level. Our public/private partnership with the department of Health and the Western Cape Rehabilitation Centre enables us to provide a dynamic outreach seating clinic service for schools, hospitals and community homes throughout the region.
Shonaquip employs only the most dedicated and professional staff at our branches in Cape Town, the Eastern Cape, Gauteng and Limpopo. We also provide training workshops on correct wheelchair fitting and the importance of postural support to therapists and associated professionals across all of South Africa's nine provinces.
Shonaquip is deeply committed to improving the lives of all individuals, especially those with severe disabilities. To this end they design, manufacture and supply user-appropriate postural support equipment, as well as alternative and augmentative communication devices.
